Little Falls, NJ – The Jackals fell just two wins shy of their 5th League Championship in 2011 - and there is no shortcoming of effort this off-season in making the adjustments to go back and win it all.

The Jackals are pleased to announce the signing of former Washington Nationals pitcher, Matt Chico. In his 3 years with the Nationals, Chico notched 7 wins and struck out 128 batters in over 200 innings of work.

Chico spent the 2011 season playing with the Syracuse Chiefs and the Harrisburg Senators, both minor league affiliates of the Nationals. During his minor league career, Chico has recorded over 50 wins striking out more than 650 batters during his over 800 innings pitched.

Im excited for what Matt will bring to the table both on the field and in the locker room. He will solidify this rotation and bring a sense of leadership to the team, commented Jackals manager Joe Calfapietra.

The New Jersey Jackals, proud members of the Canadian-American Association of Professional Baseball, play their home games at Yogi Berra Stadium located on the campus of Montclair State University in Little Falls, NJ. 2012 season tickets, mini-plans and group outings are available by calling 973-746-7434. The team's home opener is Tuesday, May 29.
